Rock picks up a first round pick in the 2009 NLL entry draft
TORONTO –The Toronto Rock Lacrosse Club have traded forward Ryan Benesch and defender Derek Suddons to the Edmonton Rush in exchange for a first round selection in the 2009 NLL Entry Draft (acquired from Portland) and a second round selection in the 2010 NLL Entry Draft. Due to club policy terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Suddons, who was still in contract negotiations, was unsigned heading into this ‘09 season and Benesch had yet to dress with the Rock after their two first games this month.
The Rock continue to acquire draft picks for what is expected to be the best NLL Entry Draft of the decade. They currently hold two first round picks and three second round picks for the 2009 NLL Entry Draft this fall.
The Rock (1-1) host the Calgary Roughnecks (2-0) at the Air Canada Centre this weekend on Saturday January 17th at 7:00 p.m. EST.
