CHICAGO, Oct. 30 (UPI) — The Chicago White Sox will not  
sign prolific home run hitter Ken Griffey Jr. for the 2009 season,
the team said Thursday.
The decision means the 38-year-old outfielder becomes a free

OAKLAND, Calif., Oct. 30 (UPI) — Chris Paul’s jump shot  
with 25 seconds remaining put New Orleans in front Wednesday and the
Hornets opened their season with a 108-103 win over Golden State.
